Epicor held their annual user conference this week in Nashville. This is the one time of year that Epicor dedicates all its resources to its partners and customers and shares their vision for the future. Being a Certified Epicor Partner, we were especially excited to hear the manufacturing and ERP specific news. Well, Epicor didn’t disappoint. Epicor ERP has some new exciting changes.
Epicor Insights 2017
Epicor unveiled their latest release of ERP which introduces several new features, including a data analytics package and global financial and compliance capabilities. Scott Hays, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing, Epicor, said: “With margins for products eroding, customer demands increasing, and an uncertain and somewhat unstable global economy, manufacturers need to use technology to increase their business agility, and enable strategic decision-making. Designed to support how people work, today and in the future, Epicor ERP helps businesses make the most of technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and analytics, social collaboration, mobility and additive manufacturing.”
Epicor in the past has made known their commitment to the cloud and it seems they are embracing it as their future as well. Another new feature they are introducing is a new dedicated tenancy cloud option. Some other new features include tools for improving productivity in front and back-end processes, which includes a new 2D Design Visualization Tool, as well as new resources that will allow for  streamlined upgrades and increased support and training. The new release also features fully integrated enterprise content management capabilities from the company’s January 2017 acquisition of DocStar.
Only time will tell how the new ERP software is embraced and what users think of the updates. Until then, it is exciting to think about what’s on the horizon and 2W Tech will be excited to start doing customer upgrades and new implementations. If you are a current Epicor ERP customer and are excited and ready for an upgrade, contact us today so we can be prepared to pull the trigger as soon as the release is ready.
