What Is New in Epicor Kinetic 2024.2
The latest release of Epicor Kinetic 2024.2 demonstrates Epicor’s commitment to fostering more interconnected work environments, introducing features that simplify and enhance business operations. This version improves the Kinetic user experience with updates to the Browser UX/UI and offers self-service tools via the Epicor Cloud Management Portal. Epicor Kinetic 2024.2 was GA (Generally Available) as of November 14, 2024. The public cloud customers had their pilot environments upgraded on November 9th and live databases are scheduled on December 13th for US Central Data Centers.

- Carbon Cost Rollup: As part of the initial phase of the CO2e Sustainability Initiative, this feature allows customers to calculate the total carbon cost at the part level for each product and report carbon metrics to regulatory bodies using standard costing. Future developments will extend these capabilities to jobs, quotes, and the general ledger.
- Carbon Footprint in Shipping with Epicor Quick Ship: This new feature enables businesses to consider estimated carbon emissions (CO2e) alongside cost during shipping rate comparisons, supporting more informed decision-making.

- Self-Service Tools via the Epicor Cloud Management Portal: This feature allows users to manage cloud services as needed, with phased rollouts planned across datacenters.
- SQL to BAQ Generator: This tool converts SQL queries into Business Activity Queries (BAQs), supporting complex joins and subqueries, thus facilitating data analysis and reporting.
- Test ReCoder UI Test Tool: A versatile browser plug-in that aids in UI testing by automating quality assurance processes, originally developed for Epicor QA teams but now available to Kinetic customers.
