Microsoft Teams to Receive Improved PowerPoint Features

10/18/22

If you have ever tried to view a PowerPoint presentation in Microsoft Teams, you understand the experience is not usually a pleasant one. Pretty soon, the days of viewing the blurred text will be gone. According to the official Microsoft 365 product roadmap, an update is coming and will allow users viewing a PowerPoint Live presentation to privately magnify the slide, hopefully eliminating the eye strain it can cause.

In addition to magnifying specific slides for all meeting attendees for viewing purposes, it can also help draw focus to certain areas or data points on the presentation.

This update is still in development but has a scheduled general availability date of November 2022 and will be made available to Microsoft Teams users worldwide when launched. It will be available to Microsoft Teams users on Desktop, Web, iOS, Mac, and Android.

Another recently unveiled feature in PowerPoint is a recording studio to allow users to practice their presentations in advance. This way, before a user gives a presentation live in Microsoft Teams, they can review the footage to help hone their delivery and identify any areas of improvement needed before the actual event.

Microsoft also revealed support for live slide translation in PowerPoint Live, allowing for the slides to be instantly translated during a Teams call. Both presenters and attendees will have the ability to translate the presentation content privately by right-clicking on the presentation and choosing the Translate Slides option.

The reason Microsoft Teams is the top collaboration tool on the market is because Microsoft continues to take steps to improve the platform to provide the best user experience possible.
