Microsoft Exchange Server Attacks Still Happening
On March 2, Microsoft released critical updates to secure Microsoft Exchange Servers from 4 vulnerabilities. They asked that organizations apply the patches with urgency to prevent cyberattacks to their email servers. Several weeks later, many organizations have yet to apply the critical updates for Microsoft Exchange Server and cybercriminals are taking full advantage.
A recent report stated that tens of thousands of attacks targeting vulnerable Microsoft Exchange Servers are happening every day. Only about half of the Exchange servers visible on the internet have applied the Microsoft patches for these vulnerabilities. The longer a business goes without applying the patches, the longer the cybercriminals have to find a door into your server and valuable data. There is a chance you have been hacked and don’t even know it yet.
Outside of applying these critical patches, Microsoft has issued advice on other security tools and settings you can apply to help fully protect your business from a ransomware attack. There are plenty of things you can do manually also to help protect your server and data from a security breach.
