Earlier this week on our blog, we discussed various new features Windows 11 was receiving in this latest update to really change the Windows experience. Click here to read that entire blog.

Microsoft also announced that this latest Windows 11 update was going to include access to the new Windows Copilot, AI-powered updates to Paint, Snipping Tool, Photos, RGB lighting support, a modernized File Explorer, and much more.

Here are some of the highlight users can expect:

  • Copilot has become the AI-digital assistant to bring the usefulness of Bing AI Chat to Windows users directly via an embedded AI-powered assistant.
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) features being added inside Paint, Snipping Tool, and Windows 11 Photo App. Paint will be receiving a new AI image generator. The Snipping Tool gains Ai features for extraction and redaction. The Photo App will gain image blur capabilities.
  • Microsoft Paint is receiving Photoshop features and added support for transparency and layers.
  • Paint Cocreator will be available in a few weeks. This user simply adds a text prompt, selects a style, and an image is created!

There has been no set date when these AI-enhanced versions of Paint, Photos and Snipping Tool will be released. Microsoft warned these app updates have started rolling out to a small group with full availability targeted in the coming months.

There are more Windows updates expected to hit in another update planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2023.
