Enhanced Performance and Features in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge is kicking off the year with impressive speed and responsiveness. With the release of Microsoft Edge 132, numerous essential features such as Downloads, Drop, History, and the InPrivate new tab experience have become significantly quicker.
Remarkably, over 14 areas of the browser’s user interface now operate 40% faster on average. These advancements are made possible by Microsoft’s transition to WebUI 2.0, a markup-first architecture that reduces code bundle sizes and limits JavaScript execution during UI initialization.
Microsoft has also unveiled a newly revamped Edge Add-ons website. This redesign aims to improve your browsing experience by simplifying the discovery and acquisition of add-ons, including extensions and themes, through a modern and functional store.
The updated website offers a sleek, intuitive interface, with tabs for product types like extensions and themes, and a permanently placed search bar at the top right, making navigation effortless.
The autosuggestion feature now delivers more relevant suggestions as you type, accompanied by a Get button beside top extensions in search results for easy installation.
The search engine enhancements provide more precise results, allowing filtering by product type, category, rating, and more to find exactly what you need.
Themes are now more effectively categorized, enabling you to explore various styles and customize your browser’s appearance.
Discover curated collections of extensions and themes tailored to specific interests and needs, designed to optimize your browsing experience.
The updated Edge Add-ons website is gradually rolling out. We believe these improvements will significantly enhance your browsing experience. Keep an eye on the Official Microsoft Blog for further updates.
