Snapchat Brings Lenses to Microsoft Teams

04/13/23

Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat recently announced that it is integrating Lenses into Microsoft Teams. Snap’s Camera Kit SDK allows other developers to use their Snap AR technology and integrate it into their products. Users can create a wide range of augmented reality experiences using Lens Studio. By using the Creator Marketplace, users can tap into the company’s network of AR developers.

You do not have to download any additional files and can be quickly accessed in the middle of a meeting or call.  All you need to do is click on the ‘Video Effects’ option, choose ‘More Video Effects’ and then select Snapchat in the filter category that shows up.  Then pick whichever lens you want and join the call!

If you want to explore more lenses, you click the three-dot button that appears next to any lens, and you will see a scannable Snapcode and instructions on how to find the Lenses on Snapchat.

Microsoft Teams users can choose from a collection of 26 lenses. These lenses are aimed at making meetings fun and collaborative.  Just make sure you feel out the room before you change the vibe of the meeting!
