Big Spending on Managed Services Predicted for 2022

01/24/22

Between a small labor pool and relentless competition from other employers, the demand for qualified IT talent is at an all-time high. According to a recent study, organizations plan to outsource more of their IT needs in 2022 to complement their in-house IT departments, meaning managed services providers will be plenty busy.

Gartner’s IT spending forecast expects the IT services sector – which includes consulting and managed services – will have the second highest spending growth in 2022. This amount will reach $1.3 trillion, up 7.9 percent from 2021.

Gartner states through 2025, organizations will increase their reliance on external consultants like managed service providers as the greater urgency and accelerated pace of change widen the gap between organizations’ digital business ambitions and their internal resources and capabilities.

If you’re struggling to fill those roles in your IT department, partnering with a managed service provider is a great way to go. But based on the findings in Gartner’s report, you could find yourself competing for the top providers out there if you don’t act fast.
