It’s OK to fail at 2W Tech

Wait. What? Why would I write that!

Is it OK to fail at 2W Tech?

Absolutely. Embracing failure is the key to our success…Let me explain.

It is important everyone at 2W is grounded, with no uncertainty.  I want our people to try new things and toss around innovative ideas. Push the edge sometimes.  The world is a screwy place right now. But, now more than ever, I want my teammates to know that they are safe.

I stumbled across this concept during the scariest days of COVID when no one knew what would happen, was the company safe? Our Jobs? Family? Heck, even the air might kill you.   No one felt safe.

While looking for Ideas, I happened across Simon Sinek’s TED Talk ‘Why good leaders make you feel safe.’

“Leadership is a choice, not a rank”

If you aspire to be a leader, there is no better way to spend the next 12 minutes than to watch this. It is required watching of the management team at 2W. It is as relevant today as it was a decade ago.

Safety.

Not in the sense of our manufacturing clients with required best practice to keep everyone physically safe…  But creating an environment where our teammates know they are supported and if they struggle, we will surround them with help and guidance.

Safety is literally # 2 after breathing in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Our children, husbands, wives, partners, and other people we may never meet are dependent on the actions we take every day.

When our teammates start in the morning, they need to know, ‘we got you.’

Leadership is a choice, not a rank.
