HITRUST Adjusts to New Social Distancing Norms for Time Being
Many aspects of business may have come to a screeching halt last month, but one thing for certain – as long as regulations exist, your operations will have to adhere to them. HITRUST understands that fact, so last month the organization announced it waived its external assessor’s onsite fieldwork requirement to abide by social distancing guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization, however, is not universally waiving HITRUST CSF Assurance Program timing requirements, since that would go against the overall integrity of the HITRUST CSF Assurance Program. It may issue discretionary, limited modifications to these timing requirements to impacted organizations, though.
For organizations that may be delayed in obtaining a HITRUST CSF Validated Assessment or Certification, or whose HITRUST CSF Certification will expire over these exigent circumstances introduced by Covid-19, HITRUST encourages them to engage with their internal stakeholders and external partners to determine whether they should seek an extension.
Also effective immediately, HITRUST Academy will hold all training sessions virtually through June 2020.
