Epicor Expands Automotive Aftermarket Solutions with Acquisition of Solenium Group and Visual SKUs

10/03/24

Epicor, a leader in industry-specific enterprise software, has announced the acquisition of Solenium Group Inc. and its affiliate, Visual SKUs Inc. These companies, recognized for their expertise in Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM), have been long-standing partners of Epicor, particularly in the Automotive Aftermarket sector. This acquisition positions Epicor as the foremost provider of catalog and eCommerce solutions for the Automotive Aftermarket, significantly enhancing its role as a key player in North America’s catalog content landscape. Financial terms remain undisclosed.

The Automotive Aftermarket is currently undergoing dynamic growth due to an increasing demand for replacement parts and accessories. As vehicle components evolve and product variations rise, companies encounter challenges in effectively managing product content. For manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, expedited market entry is crucial for driving sales and expanding product lines.

Through this acquisition, Epicor will now offer a comprehensive PIM and DAM suite specifically designed for the Automotive Aftermarket. This platform will enable suppliers and retailers to create, manage, and distribute product and fitment information, along with digital assets, from a single, centralized system.

“The acquisition of Solenium and Visual SKUs strengthens Epicor’s leadership in the Automotive Aftermarket helping manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and retailers expand revenue opportunities by getting the right parts, to the right place, at the right time,” said Epicor CEO Steve Murphy. “Epicor continues to invest in providing the digital foundation that powers the growth of the global make, move, and sell economy, and the addition of Solenium and Visual SKUs accelerates our mission to help our customers capitalize on revenue generating opportunities in a highly dynamic marketplace.”

Epicor plans to source data directly from parts suppliers, converting it into formats compliant with the Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard (ACES) and Product Information Exchange Standard (PIES). This streamlining accelerates the integration of compliant vehicle application and product data into Epicor’s next-generation catalog, facilitating increased sales and efficiency across various aftermarket channels. Key benefits include:

  • Accelerated Revenue Generation: Parts suppliers can collaborate with Epicor to map their data into ACES and PIES-compliant content, integrating seamlessly with the Epicor Catalog and other marketplaces, thereby enhancing time-to-market for sales.
  • Automated Digital Asset Management: From production to sales and support, parts manufacturers can convert data into compelling digital content that boosts sales, minimizes return costs, and maximizes revenue.

This acquisition underscores Epicor’s commitment to empowering businesses in the Automotive Aftermarket with advanced tools and solutions designed to foster growth and operational efficiency.

“As we embark on this new chapter, our commitment to deliver unparalleled PIM and DAM solutions remains unwavering,” said CEO of Solenium and Visual SKUs, Claudio Di Sano. “By joining forces with Epicor, we are poised to leverage their extensive resources, advanced technologies, and global reach to continue to drive unprecedented innovation in the automotive aftermarket industry.”
